UK nurses fly out to prepare for opening - September 2021

Two of our UK nurses, Selina Edwards and Josephine Bloxham, have travelled out to Malawi to coordinate the final touches of the stroke unit in order to get it up and running. They are working closely with Zuze Kawale (Chief nurse of the adult medical department, Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH)), Gloria Mwangalika and Irene Sheha (both nurses working at MLW) and Tamara Phiri (Stroke Physician at QECH) to facilitate training of a core group of nurses who will lead the unit and train future generations of nurses. We aim to open our doors to patients in January 2022.
